Background

Rich joined Rochem FYREWASH® in 2018 as a Workshop Technician after receiving an unexpected textmessage from long-time friend and colleague Duncan Thorpe, who simply asked if he fancied joining thecompany. Having known Duncan since school, Rich didn't hesitate to accept the opportunity.

After leaving school, Rich studied Software Engineering at Eastleigh College before beginning his career with UPS, initially working part-time in the warehouse while completing his studies.

He later moved into a full-time role before spending four years as a courier driver. Following his time at UPS, Rich worked in the automotive industry, delivering vehicle parts before progressing into a store role, building valuable experience in logistics and customer service.

Since joining Rochem FYREWASH®, Rich has embraced every opportunity to develop his engineering skills.

Starting with no engineering background, he quickly learned to weld and has since achieved a City & Guilds Level 2 qualification in TIG Welding.

He is also a qualified First Aider and continues to play an important role within the workshop team, supporting the manufacture of Rochem's specialist gas turbine and compressor cleaning equipment.

Outside work, Rich enjoys following Tottenham Hotspur through the highs and lows of football, listening to rock, metal and 80s music, with Queen being his favourite band.

He also enjoys building detailed scale models and spending time with his daughter, who lives with him.
