Stock Controller / Stores Person
Paul joined Rochem FYREWASH® as a Stock Controller / Stores Person, bringing many years of experience in engineering stores, warehouse management, and stock control across a wide range of industries.
His career began with a YTS mechanic apprenticeship at Dick Lovett Mercedes before serving as an Engineer in the Royal Navy.
Since then, he has built extensive experience in purchasing, stores management, warehouse operations and inventory control, always taking opportunities to develop new skills and broaden his knowledge through hands-on experience and professional training.
Before joining Rochem FYREWASH®, Paul held a variety of roles with companies including Monks & Crane, IESA and Kite Projects. He has managed engineering stores for major organisations, including Molson Coors Brewery, where he was responsible for purchasing, stock control, invoicing and implementing SAP barcode systems.
Throughout his career, he has also led engineering stores and warehouse teams, overseeing goods inwards and dispatch, inventory management, health and safety and process improvements.
Paul joined Rochem FYREWASH® after responding to an agency advertisement and now supports the stores function through goods receiving, stock control, purchasing and order picking.
He has also been involved in helping implement the company's new WinMan ERP system. While the role is a step away from previous management positions, he enjoys contributing to the ongoing development of efficient processes that support the wider business.
Over the years, Paul has completed a wide range of professional training, including project management, health and safety, first aid, fire marshal training, forklift truck operation and COSHH. He has also worked with several warehouse and stores management systems, including SAP, Sage and Oracle.
Outside work, Paul enjoys exploring new places, weekend breaks and visiting National Trust properties. He is a keen cyclist and lifelong rugby fan, having grown up in Leicester.
He also enjoys spending time with his two children, while his parents, who have lived in Spain for over 30 years, provide the perfect excuse for an occasional trip abroad.
