Adam Kirkwood

Background

Adam joined Rochem as a Workshop Technician in 2026 after discovering a passion for engineering and hands-on technical work.

His career began in a very different field, studying Music Technology and Media Production at college. Although he enjoyed the subject, Adam soon realised music would remain a hobby rather than a career.

He went on to work for a marquee construction company, travelling across the UK to major events including theHenley Royal Regatta and The Championships, Wimbledon, before deciding to pursue a more long-term career in engineering.

Over the years, Adam has built a varied range of experience across several industries, including roles as a solar panel installer, IT procurement specialist, customer service advisor and data analyst with the Office for National Statistics. These positions gave him valuable practical, analytical and problem-solving skills that continue to benefit him today.

Encouraged by friends already working in engineering, Adam developed an interest in machining and precision engineering. His experience operating machinery, carrying out manual lathe work and working with tools led him to join Rochem, where he now supports the workshop team in the manufacture and preparation of equipment.

Outside work, Adam enjoys attending live music events, playing the guitar and taking part in local pub quizzes. He is also a keen sailing enthusiast whenever time allows and rarely misses the chance to support England during international sporting tournaments.
