Andrew Butler

Background

Andrew joined Rochem FYREWASH® after first completing work experience with the company at the age of 16. Following college and a period working in retail, he returned to Rochem in September 2025 to begin his Engineering Fitter apprenticeship, having already developed a strong interest in engineering during his earlier time with the business.

His apprenticeship combines practical, hands-on experience with technical training, allowing him to build the skills required to manufacture complex, high-value, low-volume components and assemblies.

Working alongside experienced engineers has enabled Andrew to apply his college learning in a real workshop environment while developing his confidence, technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities.

Since joining the apprenticeship programme, Andrew has gained experience across a variety of areas within the workshop, giving him a broad understanding of the company'smanufacturing processes and helping him develop a wide range of engineering skills.

He particularly enjoys the variety that each day brings and the opportunity to continue learning from the experienced team around him.

Looking ahead, Andrew hopes to complete his engineering qualifications, continue expanding his knowledge across all areas of the workshop and build a long-term career within Rochem FYREWASH® and the engineering industry.

Outside work, Andrew enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly camping and hiking, making the most of opportunities to explore the countryside whenever he can.
